EAST-CENTRAL, IL (Chambana Today) – The Community Foundation of East Central Illinois (CFECI) has awarded $60,000 in Capacity Building Grants to 15 nonprofit organizations spanning eight counties across the region.
This annual grant cycle is designed to help nonprofits enhance their internal operations—supporting areas like staff training, board development, strategic planning, marketing, and technology infrastructure. The ultimate goal: strengthen organizations from the inside out so they can better serve their communities.
“We are thrilled to support such a dynamic group of organizations doing meaningful work throughout our region,” said Allison Winter, President & CEO of CFECI. “These capacity-building investments help nonprofits expand their impact and ensure long-term sustainability.”
The 2025 recipients reflect the geographic and service diversity of East Central Illinois, with funded groups from Champaign, Douglas, Ford, Iroquois, Moultrie, Piatt, Vermilion, and Coles Counties.

These organizations are engaged in vital work ranging from mental health services and refugee support to historic preservation and environmental stewardship.
