Mutual Aid Called as House Fire Burns in Pesotum; Sheriff’s Deputy Assists on Scene
Pesotum, IL — Multiple fire departments in Champaign County responded to a house fire reported in Pesotum this morning. The Savoy Fire Department and Villa Grove Fire & Rescue were among those dispatched to provide mutual aid support to the Pesotum Fire Protection District, the lead agency on the scene.
According to Eddie Bain, spokesperson for the Savoy Fire Department, his team was ultimately not needed at the scene but confirmed that a working fire was actively being fought in a local residence. Champaign County Sheriff Dustin Heuerman also confirmed that one of his deputies was present to assist firefighters during the incident.
