CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The stage is set at the Virginia Theatre for a musical celebration of one of pop music’s most influential artists. Beautiful: The Carole King Musical opens Thursday, July 31, and runs through Sunday, August 3, with four performances showcasing the remarkable life and music of Carole King.
Presented by the Champaign Park District in collaboration with the Champaign-Urbana Theatre Company (CUTC) and J. Barry Howell, the Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical tells the inspiring story of King’s rise from a teenage songwriter to one of the most successful solo acts in pop music history.
Audiences can expect classics like “You’ve Got a Friend,” “Natural Woman,” “So Far Away,” and “Will You Love Me Tomorrow.”
Evening shows will be held Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m., with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. Reserved seating tickets are priced at $23 for adults, $18 for students and seniors, $14 for children under 12, and free for kids 2 and under (plus a $3 per-ticket processing fee).
