ST. JOSEPH TOWNSHIP, IL (Chambana Today) – On Saturday afternoon, the Champaign County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to respond to a motor vehicle crash that resulted in life threatening injuries.
Dispatched at around 3:59 p.m., deputies arrived to the area of Homer Lake Road and 2275 East in St. Joseph Township for a crash with injuries between a motorcycle and a tractor.
After investigation, deputies concluded that both vehicles were traveling west on Homer Lake Road when the motorcycle attempted to pass the tractor as it turned south onto 2275 East. The driver of the motorcycle was airlifted to Carle Hospital with life threatening injuries, while the driver and passengers of the tractor did not suffer any injuries.
This accident remains under investigation by Champaign County Sheriff’s accident reconstruction deputies.
