CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – On Friday, August 1, at 8:58 p.m., the Champaign Fire Department responded to a fire in a multi-family, two-story apartment building in the 3700 block of Colleen Dr. Crews arrived to find smoke coming from a second-story apartment and quickly extinguished the fire using a single hose line. The building’s sprinkler system helped contain the fire.
No injuries were reported, but two apartment units were rendered uninhabitable, displacing their occupants. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
