Courage to Remember, produced by the Simon Wiesenthal Center Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, is a traveling exhibit that has reached more than 50 countries and over 20 million visitors globally. Displayed on large, illustrated panels paired with historical photos, maps, and firsthand survivor accounts, the exhibit chronologically chronicles the Holocaust, with the goal of inspiring visitors—young and old—to confront bigotry, injustice, and hatred.
Dr. Brian Kahn of the Holocaust Education Center expressed gratitude: “We are very excited that Marketplace Shopping Center is hosting this exhibit.” He credited Holocaust survivor Dr. William Gingold with bringing the exhibit to Champaign-Urbana as an invaluable educational opportunity.
Longtime HEC member Rebecca Lawson added, “It is a powerful exhibit and incredibly well done… this exhibit will give people a similar experience on a smaller scale without having to travel very far.”
Reservations are available for school tours and community groups (grades 5–12), as well as university classes. Guided tours by trained volunteers are also offered. Interested parties should contact the Holocaust Education Center at hec@cujf.org or call 217‑367‑9872 to schedule.
