RANTOUL, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Compass Casting and Bokeh Background are opening their doors to expand their Central Illinois talent pool after the films “Moses the Black” and “Chili Finger”. The open call will take place this Saturday, January 31, at Compass Casting at Flyover Film Studios in Rantoul at 5 p.m., and is first-come, first-serve.

The open call gives people an opportunity to come into the casting office, have their picture taken to enter the database, and meet casting professionals they’ll be working with if they’re selected to be a part of a film.

“With the expansion of the Illinois Tax Incentive, we’re going to need more people to be in more movies!” Sarah Cayce, the owner and casting director of both offices. “We’re looking for folks of all types – all ages, all looks, all types, all ability levels – to fill our film screens in 2026. We shot a few movies last year, but this year looks like it’s going to be extremely busy.”

A release from Compass Casting shared that no prior acting experience is necessary. Actors are welcome to drop their headshots and resumés at the open call, and non-actors are also welcome to have their pictures taken by the casting team.

“We never know what kinds of folks movies are looking for, so we need to have a pool of people built to be ready when they are,” says Cayce. “I’m excited to open my doors, meet more community members, and answer any questions folks have while we’re there. We’ll have coffee and hot chocolate – I hope we see you!”
