URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) — Fire crews responded late Sunday night to their second structure fire of the day, this time battling a heavily involved garage fire on Hill Street.

According to the Urbana Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched at approximately 10:16 p.m. to 1204 Hill St. after reports of a structure fire. Engine 253, stationed on Bradley Avenue, arrived within three minutes to find a detached garage fully involved, with flames visible and threatening nearby buildings.

Firefighters quickly deployed multiple hose lines to attack the fire and protect surrounding structures. Crews established a sustained water supply, used power saws to gain access to the building and safely secured utilities to prevent further hazards.
