CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, IL (Chambana Today) — Fifteen polling locations in Champaign County will be closed on Election Day because of a shortage of election judges.

County Clerk Aaron Ammons announced the closures Monday and said signs will be posted at each site directing voters to the nearest available polling place.

Officials say Champaign County uses vote centers, meaning voters can cast a ballot at any open polling location in the county, regardless of their home precinct. Election Day is March 17, and longer lines may occur at some sites.

  • Activities and Recreation Center (ARC), 201 E. Peabody Dr., Champaign

  • Bible Baptist Church, 4001 W. Kirby Ave., Champaign

  • Royal Community Building, 103 S. Park St., Royal

  • Bresnan Meeting Center, 706 Kenwood Rd., Champaign

  • Free Methodist Church, 1913 S. Mattis Ave., Champaign
