URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – The City of Urbana’s Grants Management Division is now accepting applications for its Emergency Roof Repair Grant program.
This initiative is designed to address hazardous or deteriorating roofing conditions in owner-occupied homes, ensuring the safety and livability of your residence.
What is the Emergency Roof Repair Grant?
The Emergency Roof Repair Grant offers up to $15,000 per project to eligible households. These grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so it’s crucial to act quickly. The program is funded through the American Rescue Plan Act, and all funds must be used by the end of the 2024 calendar year.
Who qualifies for the grant?
To be eligible for the roof repair program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Own and have lived in the home to be repaired for at least one year.
- Have homeowners’ insurance.
- Have a total household income of no more than 80% of the area median family income, as determined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
