URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) — A press release from the City of Urbana’s Public Works Department has approved a Special Event Permit Application from Champaign County Indivisible for the No Kings Day of Action, which is set to take place on Saturday, March 28.
Portions of Urbana will be closed to accommodate the event. Main Street between Broadway Avenue and Vine Street in Downtown Urbana will be closed from around 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for event activities. A map of the affected area is below.

The event includes a march that will begin around 3 p.m. The march will begin at East Main Street and South Vine Street before proceeding on South Vine Street, west on East Illinois Street, north on South Race Street, east on West Main Street, and conclude at the event area at the East Main Street and South Broadway Avenue. Northbound traffic on South Vine Street, eastbound traffic on East Illinois Street, southbound traffic on South Race Street, and westbound traffic on West Main Street between South Broadway and South Race will be maintained during the march.
Drivers should expect delays while traveling through the area.
