Illinois Department of Transportation holding public hearing for intersection improvements

The proposed improvements would be to U.S. 45 intersections at Flatville Road in Thomasboro and Leverett Road in Champaign County. This event is open to the public and will be held at the Thomasboro Fire Department at 101 N. Church Street on Monday, April 7 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

UPDATE: Two Danville residents arrested after police find illegal firearms and cannabis during stop

He was then booked and arrested for Obstructing justice and being wanted on an out-of-state warrant. Washington currently resides in custody at the Vermilion County Public Safety Building. The information was not originally released due to ongoing communication with the County and State issuing the warrant.

An awards ceremony on April 17 with recognize students with remarkable distinction with merit awards, purchase awards, monetary award certificates, and scholarship recipients. The reception is scheduled on April 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Giertz Gallery. The exhibit is open until Saturday, May 10. The Spring gallery hours are Monday through Wednesday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; and Saturday, noon to 2:00 p.m.

Red Cross asking for more volunteers in disaster relief

5,000 people volunteer with the American Red Cross around the Illinois region. They have responded to over 1,700 disasters in the last year, helping over 7,600 people impacted by fires, severe weather, and much more. These volunteers are apart of the almost 275,000 volunteers across the country, providing relief for disaster victims, blood, and emergency support for families and individuals.

Illinois Department of Transportation announces project replacing I-72 bridge

Over the next six years, IDOT is planning to improve more than 3,000 miles of highway and nearly 10 million square feet of bridge deck as part of the Rebuild Illinois capital program, which is investing $33.2 billion into all modes of transportation. Accomplishments through Year Four of Rebuild Illinois included approximately $12.1 billion of improvements statewide on 5,339 miles of highway, 533 bridges and 762 additional safety improvements.
