The proposed improvements would be to U.S. 45 intersections at Flatville Road in Thomasboro and Leverett Road in Champaign County. This event is open to the public and will be held at the Thomasboro Fire Department at 101 N. Church Street on Monday, April 7 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

5,000 people volunteer with the American Red Cross around the Illinois region. They have responded to over 1,700 disasters in the last year, helping over 7,600 people impacted by fires, severe weather, and much more. These volunteers are apart of the almost 275,000 volunteers across the country, providing relief for disaster victims, blood, and emergency support for families and individuals.
These recipients are Lieutenant Courtney Moravek, Engineer Taylor Clark, and Firefighter Jayvion Terry and the honoring will take place on April 2, 2025. The announcement will take place during the 2025 Edward Hoffman Awards Ceremony at the Champagin Fire Department Station 1 at 6:30 p.m.

Over the next six years, IDOT is planning to improve more than 3,000 miles of highway and nearly 10 million square feet of bridge deck as part of the Rebuild Illinois capital program, which is investing $33.2 billion into all modes of transportation. Accomplishments through Year Four of Rebuild Illinois included approximately $12.1 billion of improvements statewide on 5,339 miles of highway, 533 bridges and 762 additional safety improvements.
