Grammy-nominated duo Wil Baptiste and Kev Marcus will “redefine the possibilities of music by merging classical depth with hip-hop’s pulse.” The tour will capture where it all began for Black Violin, transformed and reimagined. The performance takes place on Wednesday, November 12 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale on Friday, May 2 at 10:00 a.m.
Illinois lawmakers say they are close to agreeing on a reform plan that would keep the CTA, Metra, and Pace operating separately, while giving more power to the RTA, which currently oversees regional transit finances. This plan, backed by organized labor and often referred to as the “labor plan,” is gaining traction and is seen as a realistic and politically feasible solution.
The sale takes place in the campus greenhouse from May 5 to May 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The sale includes hanging baskets, flowers, succulents, and more. Payment will be cash or check only and all proceeds go to Horticulture programming and the Food Donation Garden.

Participants can grab a drink and dive into the groundbreaking research at the Pint of Science Festival presented by researchers from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. The festival takes place from May 19 to 20. Each evening starts at 7:00 p.m. at the Cowboy Monkey and Gallery Art Bar, with more information below. UIUC researchers will bring their science to life in casual, engaging talks.
The celebration will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Workers took down the 28-year-old PrairiePlay on March 2024 to begin construction on the new, inclusive and accessible playground for the community. The playground opened in October of 2024. Urbana parks will be celebrating the first spring and summer of the new PrairiePlay.
“It’s time to put a fresh set of eyes on DPI. We will see what the Auditor General’s office comes up with, in the meantime, I’m calling on the U of I to fully invest in the future leadership of DPI in the Urbana campus and out of the President’s office – he had his chance,” Rose concluded.

This series can be used by people new to digital technology or those looking to enhance their online experience. It features step-by-step instructions in a supportive environment. A digital literacy expert will also be on hand to provide answers to questions and one-on-one assistance.
The rally and march lasts one hour and coincides with Mother’s Day. Families are encouraged to march peacefully with or in honor of their mothers. The event starts at 10:00 a.m. on the North side of the courthouse at 101 E. Main St., Urbana. There will be several speakers, followed by a short march to Lincoln Square and the U.S. District courthouse. Participants are encouraged to bring their signs, voices, and enthusiasm.
