STANTON IL (CHAMBANA TODAY) – On Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at approximately 8:30am, Sheriff’s deputies responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of 2200 E and 2100 N in Stanton Township. The investigation showed that a van (Unit 1), being driven by a 24-year-old male from Georgetown, was Northbound on 2200 E when it disregarded a stop sign and struck a truck (Unit 2), being driven by a 36 year-old-male from Fisher, travelling East on 2100 N. The driver of Unit 1 was taken to a local hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries. The driver of Unit 2 refused medical treatment on scene. The intersection was closed for several hours while Sheriff’s deputies investigated the crash. The intersection has since been reopened. The condition of the driver of Unit 1 is not known at the time
