CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — The 16th Annual Disability Resource Expo: Reaching Out for Answers will return to Market Place Mall on Saturday, October 18, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., bringing vital services, resources, and support to people with disabilities and their families across Champaign County and East Central Illinois.

This free, public event aims to break down barriers to access—and this year, organizers are taking that commitment a step further. Thanks to the support of Disability Resources and Education Services (DRES) at the University of Illinois, a shuttle service will be available to help attendees navigate recent public transportation challenges. The shuttle will run between Neil & Center Streets and the JCPenney entrance at the mall from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., with pickups every 30 minutes.

More than 60 exhibitors will be on hand offering information on education, legal services, health care, housing, and more. The Expo will also feature children’s activities, face painting, and activity bags with fidget toys and bookmarks.

Accessibility remains a top priority. The event will offer wheelchair and walker rentals, accessible parking, and ASL and Spanish interpreters. A Personal Care Assistant provider and a traffic officer will also be present to help ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all.
