URBANA, Ill. (Chambana Today) — The University of Illinois Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society will host its annual Pi Mile Run on Saturday, March 28, bringing runners and community members together for a morning of fitness and philanthropy on the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus.
The 5K-style race will begin at 10 a.m. at the UIUC Union, with participant check-in starting at 9:45 a.m. The event is open to runners of all experience levels, from competitive athletes to those looking for a casual and fun community run.
Registration costs $25 and includes a race T-shirt, a bib number, and a mini pie for participants to enjoy at the finish line. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Eastern Illinois Food Bank, supporting efforts to address food insecurity across the region.
Organizers say the Pi Mile Run offers a unique way to celebrate the spirit of engineering, community involvement, and giving back, while encouraging healthy activity in a welcoming environment.
