OAKWOOK, IL (Chambana Today) – The Oakwood Fire Protection District responded to a semi-truck fire at the Pilot Travel Center last night. Crews arrived on the scene around 1 a.m. A truck was on fire, but the fire was extinguished quickly.
A Danville Hazmat team was called in to assist with oil leaking and concerns with lithium-ion batteries. Crews finished their clean-up close to 4:30 a.m. No one was hurt and the Pilot Travel Center is open today. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
