All-way stop at State Street and Columbia Street

The Public Works Department will be installing an all-way stop at the intersection of State Street and Columbia Street. This intersection has had five crashes in the past five years, with three of these occurring in 2023, which warrants an all-way stop at this location.

CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The Public Works Department will be installing an all-way stop at the intersection of State Street and Columbia Street. This intersection has had five crashes in the past five years, with three of these occurring in 2023, which warrants an all-way stop at this location.

Staff plan to install stop signs converting the intersection to an all-way stop on Monday, March 31, weather permitting. Starting Friday, March 28, message boards will be placed at the intersection to notify the public of the upcoming change. The message boards will be kept in place for one week after sign installations.
