CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Illinois basketball secured a major addition Monday morning as Andrej Stojakovic officially committed to the Illini. The announcement came just 30 minutes after his decision.

Stojakovic, the son of former NBA All-Star Peja Stojakovic, was a McDonald’s All-American out of California and comes to Illinois after a breakout sophomore season at Cal. The 6-foot-7 guard/forward averaged 17.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game in 2024-25.

Born in Greece and raised in California, Stojakovic’s signing continues Illinois’ trend of recruiting from the Balkans. He becomes the fourth addition to the roster this month, joining Arkansas transfer Zvonimir Ivisic, Montenegrin forward David Mirkovic, and Serbian guard Mihailo Petrovic.

With NCAA roster limits potentially increasing due to the House vs. NCAA settlement, Underwood still hopes to bring back forward Ben Humrichous and add up to two more players as the offseason continues.
