CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — This week’s Crimestoppers Booking Report will be different than our usual weekly edition.

The image below shows the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office’s “Public Documents” page, a publicly accessible page. Last week’s Booking Report was cut short due to no data being provided for July 31. Data for this week’s edition, which covers August 1 to August 7, was not available in its entirety.

This week’s Crimestoppers Booking Report will instead be used to inform YOU — the reader — on how to stay informed by accessing the resources we use to create the Booking Report.

Your first step will be to navigate to the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office’s website. Start by heading to champaigncountyil.gov and clicking on the “Find A Department” tab. On the left side, click on “Sheriff’s Office and Adult Detention”. From there, go to “Public Documents” on the left side to access all of the documents made available to you by the sheriff’s office.

To create our weekly Booking Report, we use documents provided in the “Archived Daily Reports” pulldown, which typically provides the following three documents per day:

  • Division of Corrections Daily Report
  • Inmate Bookings Report
  • Hearings Report

As you may have guessed, we use the Inmate Bookings Report.

With this week’s report not possible to create, we will return next week for the Booking Report. Additionally, Chambana Today will be reaching out to the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office to request the missing data from July 31 to August 7, with hopes of publishing a Crimestoppers Booking Report for that time frame and updating previous booking reports that had missing data.
