URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – A bicyclist was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car on Interstate 74 near Urbana on Sunday night. The incident occurred in the eastbound lane of I-74, near milepost 183, with State Police responding to the scene at approximately 7:45 p.m.
According to the investigation, the bicyclist was riding in the right lane when they were hit by a passenger vehicle. Emergency responders rushed the injured cyclist to a nearby hospital.
State Police have not released additional information regarding the accident.
