URBANA, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Carle Health is holding flag-raising ceremonies at all eight of its hospitals to honor veterans next week.
“They said ‘yes’ to their country and ‘yes’ to their community,” Carle Health CEO and president James Leonard, MD, said. “Their service to our country and to our patients mirror each other. They cannot be separated. They reflect their values.”
On November 11, Veterans Day, Carle Health will honor all veterans and its many team members who are veterans. Carle Health will have flag-raising ceremonies at all eight of its hospitals this year.
“Some will be simple, solemn flag-raisings. Others will be ceremonies with prayers and remarks. All are open to the public and will honor our veterans and our flag and everything for which they stand,” Leonard said.
Ceremonies at three Carle Health hospitals, all held on the observed holiday are as follows:
- Carle BroMenn Medical Center, 1304 Franklin Ave., Normal. – 8:30 a.m.
- Carle Foundation Hospital, 611 W. Park St., Urbana, at the Heart and Vascular Institute entrance. – 12 p.m.
- Carle Health Methodist Hospital, 221 NE Glen Oak Ave., Peoria. – 12:30 pm.
Each ceremony will include remarks by a Carle Health veteran team member, a flag-raising and participation by Color Guards of the American Legion or Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Carle Health also will have flag raisings at Carle Hoopeston Regional Health Center, Hoopeston; Carle Eureka Hospital, Eureka; Carle Health Pekin Hospital, Pekin; Carle Health Proctor Hospital, Peoria; and Carle Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney.
