CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The spotlight is turning to Central Illinois this summer as several high-profile film and music video productions prepare to shoot in Champaign County—and they’re looking for locals to help bring the action to life.

Compass Casting and Bokeh Background Casting will host a Photo Open Call at Parkland College on May 3, seeking a wide range of talent for a packed summer slate. The call is open to all, regardless of acting experience, and participation is quick and easy.

“This is the fastest way for us to see as many people as possible,” said Sarah Cayce, casting director and owner of both companies. “We’ll take your photo, get your contact info, and if a project likes your look, we’ll call you in to audition.”

Upcoming paying projects include:

  • A major motion picture centered on Midwestern heists, featuring familiar faces like John Goodman.
  • Multiple music videos connected to prominent rap artists.
  • A need for registered nurses and paramedics for key roles.
  • A Bollywood production seeking dancers with traditional or fusion experience.

Aspiring actors are welcome to bring a headshot and résumé, though it’s not required. Cayce encourages all community members—actors, dancers, and even first-timers—to stop by. “The more local faces I know, the better,” she said.
