CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – By unanimous 6-0 votes, the Unit 4 board on Monday night approved the appointments of Ryan Krows as associate principal and Tina Jordahl as assistant principal at Central, effective this summer.

They’ll be part of an administration headed up by Montia Gardner, who last month was appointed Central’s next principal, succeeding the retiring Joe Williams.

Ryan Krows spent 19 years teaching English at Central before being promoted to assistant principal in 2022, associate and summer school principal in 2023, and now associate principal. Tina Jordahl started her career in education at Central, being hired in 2017 as a math teacher. She was named the high school’s dean of students in 2023 and is now appointed assistant principal. “I’ve been at Central my whole time in Champaign and I am excited to serve my students, my staff in a different way next year,” Jordahl said.

Between them, the new appointees hold five degrees, all from the University of Illinois — Krows with a bachelor’s and two master’s degrees, and Jordahl with one bachelor’s and one master’s degree.
