CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Champaign Central High School has claimed the top spot at the 2025 National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) Eastern National Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky. Over the weekend, Central’s 24-student team topped a field of 265 high school teams, with three individual archers placing in the top five of the competition.
Senior Alexeika Mowry led the way, finishing third out of more than 2,600 girls. Teammates Rylee Smalley and Pooja Jagarlamudi tied for fourth place in the national rankings. Each of the team’s 24 archers received a $750 scholarship in recognition of their performance.

Champaign Central has seen a steady climb at the national level, finishing sixth three years ago and third in 2024 before finally reaching first place this year.
Other Champaign-area schools also made strong showings at the tournament. Centennial High School placed eighth in the bullseye competition and third in the 3D category. In the middle school division, Jefferson, Franklin, and Next Generation schools proudly represented the district.
