CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The League of Women Voters of Champaign County is hosting a meet-and-greet for candidates running for the Champaign Unit 4 School District Board. The event will be held on Sunday, March 9, from 2 – 4 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 313 S. Prospect, Champaign.

All 11 candidates running for the school board have been invited to attend, giving voters in the Unit 4 School District the chance to meet the candidates and ask questions in an informal setting.

“Serving as a member of a school board is a true sign of community service,” said Trisha Crowley, President Emerita of the League and program co-organizer. “We thank members of our community who step forward to run as candidates. This gathering will provide voters an important opportunity to hear directly from those who seek this important role in our community.”

The Consolidated Municipal Election is scheduled for April 1, with in-person early voting beginning March 12 at the Brookens Center and opening at county-wide locations on March 24. The Champaign County Clerk’s Office will begin mailing ballots to registered voters on March 12. For more information, visit the Champaign County Clerk’s website.
