CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Danielle Mallett, a second-grade teacher at Stratton Academy of the Arts, has been recognized as the 2026 Bilingual Teacher of the Year by the Illinois State Board of Education. Mallett, who teaches French to her students, was honored along with 13 other top educators across the state.
Mallett minored in French at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
The recognition celebrates educators who inspire, support, and challenge their students, reflecting Mallett’s nearly decade-long commitment to bilingual education and student success.
