CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — On Thursday, the Champaign Fire Department responded to a fire in a single-family home.
The fire department arrived at the house, located on the 400 block of East Eureka Street, at around 5:27 p.m. and were able to quickly extinguish the fire.
Firefighters responded to a report from an occupant of smoke in the home. Once on scene, crews found light smoke coming from the building, and extinguished a fire using a single hose line.
According to a release from the department, the cause of this fire has not been determined as investigators remain on scene conducting their investigation. There were no firefighter or occupant injuries reported. The occupants will be displaced as a result of this fire.
