CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The City of Champaign is calling on residents, businesses, and community members to contribute their ideas and visions for the future of Downtown Champaign. This input will play a key role in updating the 2006 Downtown Plan, which will guide the development and growth of the area for years to come.
The Downtown Plan serves as an essential tool for guiding private investments, capital improvement projects, and future programming initiatives within Downtown Champaign and the surrounding neighborhoods. The city is encouraging everyone—whether they live or work downtown or not—to share their thoughts and ideas.
Senior Planner, Eric VanBuskirk, says this survey is the perfect way for the community to help shape future plans. “Every resident of Champaign is encouraged to participate in the Downtown Plan Survey to help shape the future of our community. We welcome everyone to give their thoughts on future improvements and developments that will impact everyone directly.”
The community input survey, available in both English and Spanish, is now open. The City of Champaign values feedback from all members of the community as it shapes the future of one of its most important areas.
