CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — Police have arrested a 26-year-old Champaign man in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in November 2025 on the city’s north side.
Champaign police say officers were dispatched Nov. 16, 2025, to the 3700 block of Colleen Drive after reports of a shooting with injuries. At the scene, officers found 24-year-old Richard Frazier of Champaign suffering from multiple life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Authorities say officers and emergency personnel provided life-saving measures before Frazier was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
Investigators determined that Frazier had just left his apartment when he was shot.
On April 16, police arrested 26-year-old Ketone Bryant of Champaign in Chicago with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service.
Officials say the investigation remains ongoing and additional information may be released as it becomes available. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Champaign Police Department or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers.
Authorities remind the public that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
