CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – A Champaign man has been arrested following online threats of violence against Parkland College. Champaign Police were dispatched at 9:06 a.m. this morning to Parkland College following a report of threats made on social media. Parkland Public Safety received the threat, and they requested additional assistance from neighboring agencies. Champaign Police collaborated with authorities from Parkland and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to investigate the source of the threat. Champaign police officers were assigned at Parkland College for additional safety measures.

The investigation revealed that 19-year-old Malik Judeh of Champaign had made the threatening post. Judeh was arrested near his home at 11:02 a.m. this morning and transported to the Champaign County Correctional Center on initial charges of felony disorderly conduct and unlawful use of a weapon. Champaign Police continued the investigation, including a search of Judeh’s vehicle and home.  Champaign Police remain grateful for the assistance of Parkland Public Safety and the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the investigation.
