CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Champaign Police were dispatched to the 300 Block of E. Bradley Ave. at 10:23 p.m. on September 16 following reports of a shooting with injuries. When they arrived, officers located a 16-year-old male victim from Urbana with multiple potentially life-threatening gunshot wounds to the torso. The victim was transported to an area hospital and taken immediately to surgery. He remains in serious but stable condition.
The initial investigation indicates that the teen was walking near Bradley Ave. when he was shot. At this time, Champaign Police are working to determine the cause of the gunfire and any information related to those responsible for it. Both remain unknown at this time, and this remains an active and ongoing investigation. Officers continue to canvass the area for witnesses and video footage that may help their investigation.
