CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Champaign Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen was elected to serve a one-year term as President of the Illinois Municipal League (IML). Mayor Feinen has served on the IML Board of Directors as Vice President since 2020. She was elected President during the 111th IML Annual Conference held last weekend in Chicago.
Mayor Feinen ways, “It is my honor to be elected by my fellow board members to serve as the Illinois Municipal League’s President for the next year. I am passionate about making positive changes not only for Champaign, but for all the cities, villages, and towns across Illinois.”
The IML’s Annual Conference is an educational and networking opportunity for municipal officials and staff. The conference provides session tracks that allow every attendee the opportunity to participate in the education session that are most helpful to them and their community.
Mayor Feinen added, “Through my ongoing service with the Illinois Municipal League, I will continue to advocate for local governments that manage a myriad of complex issues so that together we can achieve our shared goal of having a positive and meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve.”
