CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The City of Champaign Tax Increment Finance Joint Review Board will meet next Monday, September 30 at 1:00 p.m. in the council chambers at 102 Neil St. Tax Increment Financing (TIF) is a tool state lawmakers gave local governments more than 30 years ago to help them restore declining areas in their communities. TIF funds can help update aging infrastructure, provide public facilities such as parking decks, create new commercial spaces, and invest in new projects that bring jobs, customers, and higher tax generators.

At the meeting on Monday, the following county leaders will be present:

The meeting will also include a proposal for the Springfield and Mattis tax increment district, as well as the TIF district yearly update.
