Willow Hill, IL (Chambana Today) – A tragedy struck Jasper County over the weekend as three members of a local family drowned in the Embarras River.
Jasper County Coroner Jason Meyer confirmed the victims as 39-year-old Travis Keebler and his two children, 12-year-old Adelyn Keebler and 6-year-old Noah Keebler. All three were residents of Willow Hill.
Authorities reported that the incident occurred during a family outing near the river. Emergency crews responded to the scene after receiving distress calls, but despite rescue efforts, all three were pronounced dead at the scene.
In response, a GoFundMe page has been established to assist the family with funeral expenses and to provide additional support. Community members have already begun expressing an outpouring of grief and solidarity through social media and local fundraising efforts.
The incident remains under investigation.
