CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — The Champaign County Community Coalition has partnered with Champaign Unit #4 School District and Urbana School District #116 to launch the Every Student. Every Day. campaign, a countywide effort focused on improving student attendance and reducing chronic absenteeism. The initiative highlights the strong link between regular school attendance, academic achievement, and long-term student well-being.

Through outreach and shared messaging, the campaign aims to encourage families, schools, and community members to work together to ensure students are consistently present and engaged in the classroom. Organizers say addressing attendance requires a community-wide approach that recognizes both the academic and social impacts of missed school days.

City leadership has publicly shown its support for the campaign through featured appearances in a campaign video, underscoring the importance of collaboration beyond the school system. Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen, City Manager Joan Walls, Police Chief Timothy Tyler, Equity and Engagement Director Rachel Joy, and Community Relations Manager Tracy Parsons each voiced their commitment, emphasizing a shared responsibility to support students and reinforce the message that being in school every single day matters.
