URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – Champaign county residents are encouraged to join the 2024 Alzheimer Assocation’s Walk to End Alzheimers on Saturday, September 21 at Crystal Lake in Urbana. Participants will honor those affected by Alzheimer’s with a Promise Garden ceremony — a “mission-focused experience that signifies our solidarity in the fight against the disease.” The opening ceremony will start at 9:30 a.m., and the walk begins at 10 a.m. Walkers will carry flowers of various colors, each color representing their personal connection to the disease.
The event is to honor those impacted by Alzheimer’s, the challenges facing Alzheimer’s caregivers, inspiring personal stories on why individuals participate in the walk, and more.
