Chicago, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – In just under two years, the Chicago Cubs will host the Major League Baseball All-Star Game.
The date is Tuesday, July 13, 2027.
Gov. JB Pritzker was part of the announcement Friday morning at Wrigley Field and said the event is a perfect opportunity to show off the ballpark, the city, and the state.
A white 23 adorns the field behind home plate, in memory of Hall of Fame second baseman Ryne Sandberg, who passed away Monday.
“You can feel Ryno here with us at the Friendly Confines this morning,” said Pritzker. “He loved this place.”
Pritzker suggested some Illinoisans prefer other teams, “but I’m a Cubs fan!”
