URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – Cunningham Children’s Home bids farewell to Chaplain Anne Fuquay after two years of dedicated service. Her final Chapel Service was marked by a packed house and a symbolic walk through the labyrinth, a tradition for youth transitioning from Cunningham. Fuquay’s compassionate presence and spiritual leadership have left a lasting impact on the youth.

In the interim, Katie Matthews, a shift leader in the residential program and former United Methodist youth leader, has stepped into the role of interim Chaplain. Matthews has planned a summer filled with scripture, games, prizes, and snacks, aiming to guide the youth in compassion, kindness, humility, patience, forgiveness, and love.

Additionally, the community’s generous support has raised $62,742 of the $65,000 goal for the Sensory Spaces, Hopeful Faces campaign. These funds will enhance the Chapel in the Spiritual Life Center, making it more sensory-friendly by installing fabric tiles to reduce echoes and sound distortion, creating a calmer space for all.
