DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) – A 28-year-old Danville man is in custody following a Tuesday morning shooting incident in the 1500 block of E. Fairchild Street.
Just after midnight on June 3, Danville Police were dispatched to the area after a 911 caller reported that a man had fired a gun in their direction. When officers arrived, they spoke with two victims who provided a description of the suspect and confirmed that he had discharged a handgun toward them.
After investigating, officers located the suspect — identified as Melvin Alexander — at a nearby residence. Police recovered a firearm believed to be used in the incident and arrested Alexander without further incident.
He was booked into the Vermilion County Jail on charges of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.
