DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) – A 22-year-old Danville man has died following a motorcycle crash in Danville Township on Saturday afternoon.
Vermilion County Coroner Jane McFadden confirmed the victim as Michael Denton. The fatal crash occurred around 3:40 p.m. on Catlin-Tilton Road and involved only Denton’s motorcycle.
Emergency responders arrived to find Denton critically injured. Despite efforts at the scene, he was pronounced dead shortly after the incident. His family has been notified, and an autopsy is scheduled for later this week to determine the official cause of death.
Following the accident, Catlin-Tilton Road was closed to traffic as investigators from the Illinois State Police, Vermilion County Sheriff’s Office, and the Coroner’s Office worked to figure out the circumstances surrounding the crash.
