Danville PD promotes two to Deputy Chief and Lieutenant

Miller and Jeffries and Jeffries will be promoted on Tuesday, September 23.

DANVILLE, Ill. (Chambana Today) — On Wednesday, the Danville Police Department announced two promotions that will go into effect next week.

“I am proud to announce that there have been two promotions within the Police Department. Lt. Doug Miller has been selected to be appointed as Deputy Chief and will be assigned to Criminal Investigations Division. Sgt. Jason Jeffries has been selected by the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners to be promoted to Lieutenant at last night’s meeting. He will remain in Patrol Division on 2^nd Shift,” police chief Chris Yates said in a press release.

Both promotions will be effective starting Tuesday, September 23, and a ceremony will be held at the City Hall Council Chambers at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The Fire Department is having a promotion as well, with a ceremony set for 9 a.m. Yates said that parking at the City Hall may be limited as a result.
