DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) – On Saturday afternoon, March 22, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Danville Police Department responded to several 911 calls reporting a shooting in the 1200 block of E. Williams Street. Officers arrived at the scene and found a 15-year-old juvenile victim lying in the roadway, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was quickly transported to a local hospital and is currently in critical condition.
Following a rapid investigation and the gathering of intelligence, the Danville Police Department was able to apprehend a juvenile suspect within two hours of the shooting. Officers arrested the suspect in a field southeast of Poolside Drive in the Danville area after a foot pursuit. The Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the arrest.
