DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) – A 16-year-old juvenile from Danville was arrested Friday, May 23, 2025, following a short foot pursuit by officers with the Danville Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing (P.O.P.) Unit. The incident occurred in the 1400 block of Lape Street during an investigation into a separate crime.
Police say the teen ran after officers ordered him to stop. After a brief chase, officers took him into custody and recovered a loaded, illegal firearm during the investigation. The juvenile was transported to the Public Safety Building and booked on multiple charges, including Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon – Possession Under 21, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon – No Concealed Carry Permit, and Obstructing/Resisting a Peace Officer.
