CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – During the Christie Clinic Illinois Race Weekend, a surprise participant crossed the finish line. Chex, a local dog, escaped his owner’s yard and joined the marathon course, running alongside participants and crossing the finish line at Memorial Stadium. Race organizers allowed Chex to continue, and after completing the course, volunteers ensured he was safely reunited with his owner.
