HENSLEY TOWNSHIP, CHAMPAIGN COUNTY (Chambana Today) – Deputies responded to a single-car crash early Friday morning in Champaign County. At approximately 2:17 a.m., Champaign County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a serious single-vehicle accident near 1200 E and 2100 N in Hensley Township.

Responding officers found that a 2018 Audi had veered off the road and traveled about two-thirds of a mile through a cornfield before coming to a stop on a fence row near I-57. The vehicle left a visible trail through the cornfield, demonstrating the severity and distance it covered before halting.

The driver and sole occupant, identified as 23-year-old Xinyu Han from Champaign, was immediately transported to a local hospital. Medical professionals there treated her for injuries sustained during the crash. Moreover, an investigation by the authorities led to Xinyu Han receiving citations for Improper Lane Usage and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (DUI).
