URBANA, Ill. (Chambana Today) — The Eastern Illinois Food Bank has plenty of volunteering opportunities throughout the month of November. With the season of giving in full swing, it’s the perfect time to sign up to volunteer.
Weekly open volunteer hours run every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For those who cannot make it, the evening community repack is coming up on Wednesday, November 12 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Volunteers are urged to check the official volunteer page to confirm times and dates and to register in advance.
A few weeks ago, more than 200 educators and administrators in Woodford County came together on their Institute Day at Metamora Township High School to kick off Eastern Illinois Food Bank’s Volunteer On the Go program. Together, they packed 13,000 pounds of apples to be distributed to neighbors facing food insecurity.
