Champaign County, IL (Chambana Today) – The Eastern Illinois Foodbank (EIF) has announced two upcoming Foodmobile events aimed at providing nutritious food to families in need across Champaign County. The mobile food pantries will operate on Tuesday, June 3 in southern Champaign County and Friday, June 13 in the northern part of the county.

These mobile distributions are part of EIF’s ongoing Foodmobile Program, which helps deliver food directly to underserved or rural communities where access to traditional food pantries may be limited. The program serves those facing food insecurity by offering fresh produce, pantry staples, and essential groceries at no cost.

Specific distribution times and locations are available online at www.eifoodbank.org/help/mobile.html.

Residents are encouraged to check the site for income eligibility guidelines and further instructions. No pre-registration is required, but participants may be asked to self-certify that they meet basic income requirements. Food insecurity continues to affect families across our region,” said Sophie Ellis, spokesperson for the Foodbank. “These Foodmobiles are an important way for us to reach communities that might not otherwise have access to regular food assistance.”
