MINNEAPOLIS, MN (Chambana Today) – The Fighting Illini women’s basketball team came up short against Minnesota, falling 68-61 at Williams Arena on Sunday afternoon. Despite the loss, Illinois had strong individual performances with three players scoring in double figures.

Genesis Bryant continued her hot streak, scoring 20 points for the third consecutive game. She also grabbed six rebounds and dished out two assists. This marks her seventh straight game scoring in double figures.

Adalia McKenzie, returning to her home state, added 14 points, two rebounds, two assists, and three steals, while Kendall Bostic made her presence felt on the boards, securing 15 rebounds—just one shy of her season high—and contributing nine points, two blocks, and an assist. Jasmine Brown-Hagger tallied 10 points, four rebounds (three on the offensive end), a team-high three assists, and a steal. Off the bench, Berry Wallace chipped in eight points, five rebounds, a steal, and connected on two three-pointers.

The Fighting Illini will return to State Farm Center on Thursday to face No. 23 Iowa. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
