CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Fire crews responded promptly Monday morning to reports of a small fire at a two-story residence after a passerby noticed smoke coming from the side of the home.
Upon arrival at the 400 block of Doisy Ln., firefighters observed light smoke and quickly deployed a single hose line to extinguish the fire, which had originated in a trash toter outside the building. The fire was brought under control swiftly, preventing further damage to the structure.
Officials have determined the cause of the fire to be accidental. Fortunately, no injuries to firefighters were reported, and the incident was contained without escalation.
